Italian Food Trail

The Italian Food Trail is the first one of its kind in the nation and today features over 65 food sites throughout the county. Italian families who immigrated here in the late 1800s and early 1900s have imparted a culinary legacy, not found in other regions of the country. Traditional dishes such as Italian Wedding Soup, Pizzelles, and Hungarian hot peppers in various forms including Hot Peppers in Oil have left a lasting impression. Mosquito Lake State Park

Don't let the name fool you... at Mosquito Lake, the mosquitos are few and the fish are plenty! This nearly 4,000-acre park, located between Cleveland & Pittsburgh, is one of the most visited state parks in Ohio, with over two-million visitors annually, offers year-round recreational activities. During the summer months, water recreation rules on this, Ohio's second largest inland lake. Bring the family and fish, swim or rent a pontoon boat, paddle board or kayak.

Mahoning River

Mid-way between Cleveland & Pittsburgh, this trail stretches nearly 23 miles of the East Branch of the Mahoning River and provides good locations for paddling, fishing and nature observation access to the river. Other amenities are available at parks open to the public.

Golf Trail

With more than 20 golf courses with 300 challenging holes, Trumbull County is a dream golf destination. It’s also home to a number of heritage golf courses dating back to the 1920s and 1930s, with many courses designed by top golf course architects like Robert White, Walter Travis, Stanley Thompson and Pete Dye, named Architect of the Year by Golf World Magazine. Four of the county’s courses — Pine Lakes, Yankee Run, Avalon Lakes and Avalon Squaw Creek — have been designated as premier 4.5 to 5-star properties.

Western Reserve Greenway

In Trumbull County, this 24-mile multi-purpose, linear trail has been designed for walking, hiking, biking and horseback-riding. Including the trail in surrounding counties, one can enjoy over 42 miles of connected trail. Surrounded by nature and safe from traffic, hikers, bicyclists, horseback riders, inline skaters and joggers can all enjoy this trail as it crosses through farmland and lush woodlands, travels over gently rolling hills and passes scenic waterways.

Downtown Warren

Warren is a city in and the county seat of Trumbull County, the only square county in Ohio (25 miles by 25 miles). The municipality is located in northeastern Ohio, midway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Warren is loaded with museums, golf courses, breweries, wine bars and more. But its hip-meets-blue-collar vibe and connection to the area’s history make it a must-visit.

McKinley Memorial Museum | Scrappy Knows!

Not every place can boast of being the birthplace of an American president, but Trumbull County can with not one but two unique Presidential sites!

At the McKinley Birthplace Museum in Niles Scrappy learned that the McKinley Presidential campaign was the very first to use campaign buttons!

Scrappy also visited the Memorial Museum to see the larger-than-life statue of President William McKinley and go inside the museum!
