Dedicated on October 5, 1917, the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial has been a fixture in downtown Niles for 100 years. To celebrate the memorial's centennial, the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Association will recreate the dedication ceremony with speeches by President William Howard Taft (portrayed by Mike Wilson) and Dorothy Butler, great-granddaughter of Joseph Butler Jr; musical entertainment; and the opening of a time capsule placed in the cornerstone of the memorial on November 20, 1915.
